Biblical Counseling Training Seminar
On behalf of the SMIC Biblical Counseling Ministry team, we would like to invite you to a biblical counseling information and overview seminar on Sunday, June 4, from 3:00-5:00, in the chapel. Dr. Lou Priolo, a national and international leader in the biblical counseling field, as well as a pastor, teacher, author and missionary, will be sharing with us about biblical counseling in the local church. We’ll also give an overview on the ministry at SMIC and tell you how you can get involved. We plan to begin counselor training in the fall, and this seminar with Dr. Priolo will provide you with a great introduction to the nuts and bolts of biblical counseling.
We will provide childcare for the seminar, but you must register by clicking on the “Register” button below by Friday, June 2 to let us know that you need childcare. We will also have light refreshments, coffee, and water at the seminar.
If you’re a deacon, a community group leader, a small group leader, a discipleship group leader, a women’s book club group leader, or you just want to be better equipped to make disciples, please consider attending. Biblical counseling is all about learning to speak the truth in love into the sin and suffering that every disciple of the Lord Jesus faces on an everyday basis, and according to the apostle Paul, this task is not merely the responsibility of pastors. In fact, pastors are intended by God to equip the body to build itself up in love and into Christlike maturity, through the means of the varied members of the body speaking the truth in love to one another.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, June 4!
